The members of this year's JETS Team competed at the University of Cincinnati on February 23, 1999.

In the Part I (Regional - Multiple Choice) part of the test, the Junior Varsity team finished third out of 7 teams in their division with a score of 37. The varsity team finished 3rd out of 9 teams with a score of 48. The regional scores placed the varsity team 10th out of 92 teams statewide; the junior varsity team placed 10th out of 54 teams statewide. (Regional divisions are based on the schools' admissions policies and size of the senior class.)

Varsity Team A's Part II score of 217 was high enough to compete at the national level. The team ranked 49th out of 116 teams who competed nationally in Division 5. The JV Team's score of 190 placed them 18th nationally out of 190 teams in Division 5.

The JETS TEAMS (Test of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science) Program illustrates engineering work in a realistic way. TEAMS is an open-book, team-discussion-focused academic competition, in which students solve real-life engineering problems. Students are challenged to use higher order thinking and logic to solve realistic problems. TEAMS problems are indicative of the level of rigor found in first semester engineering courses.
