FAFSA
(Free Application for Student Aid)
The Free Application for Student Aid can be completed one
of two ways.
1) The old "paper and pencil" way
AND
2) The internet online version
FAFSA is strongly encouraging
parents and students to fill the form out online versus paper form. By
completing the information online parents and students will receive their
information back within 24 hours as opposed to 2-4 weeks (what a turn around
difference!)
**PLEASE NOTE**
Before you can complete the FAFSA online though the parent AND
the student must both apply for a PIN number on the FAFSA website (www.pin.ed.gov).
Once you have applied for your PIN and received that information back from FAFSA
you can then begin to fill out the FAFSA form.
There is no deadline, but it is highly suggested by the Elder Guidance staff
that you complete the form by February 1. Some schools will give funds to
"first come/first serve" recipients, and we want to make sure you get
all the funds that you are entitled to.
