The mission of the Elder High School Guidance Department is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, Archbishop William Henry Elder, as well as follow our school motto "Altiora" - to strive for the higher things. Elder High School strives to prepare all students academically, socially, and spiritually to contribute at the highest levels as productive members of society, through a partnership of students, educators, parents and guardians and the community responsible for the learning process.

School counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. All students at Elder High School are provided with personal, academic, career and college guidance counseling, as well as being seen by his counselor individually, in small group formats, and class groups each year.

The students, parents and guardians are also provided with separate informational meetings throughout the school year focusing on college application and preparation, college financial aid, and the scheduling procedures.

If you have questions regarding any of the above, you may contact your counselor via phone or email.
