- Visit the Guidance Resource Center.
- Meet with your counselor ~ your
counselor will set up an initial meeting with you during first
quarter, but do not be afraid to take it upon yourself to set up a
meeting with them ~ they are there for YOU!
- Develop GOOD study skills ~ if you
are unsure of your skills check with your counselor for possible
"Study Skills Groups."
- Know what courses are needed for
graduation.
- Get involved with activities, clubs,
and organizations ~ pick activities that are fun AND meaningful ~ when
you do apply to college or for jobs, potential schools and employers
look for a person who is "well-rounded" and someone who is not afraid
to get involved.
- Become familiar with college entrance
requirements.
- Start exploring careers, colleges,
and majors.
- Work hard to pass all sections of the
Ohio 9th grade proficiency test
- Keep up good grades ~ many colleges
and employers look at your high school career as a whole, they do not
just look at the work you have accomplished your Junior and Senior
years in high school.
