Carpe Diem Foundation of Illinois
May 7, 2004 Seniors Carpe Diem is committed to helping students from any state who have demonstrated outstanding achievements, exceptional leadership ability and a serious commitment to community service.  The 2003 scholarship awards range from annual awards of $5,000 to $10,000 for undergraduate studies at accredited educational institutions.  The students selected are expected to maintain a "B" average and actively participate in the academic and social life of their community.   The scholarship is based upon meritorious achievement, however, priority will be given to students whose parents are or have been employed in education, government, social services, administration of justice, and the fine arts.  There is a $14.00 dollar processing fee for this scholarship.

Christ Hospital School of Nursing

May 21, 2004 current JUNIORS The Cincinnati BBB is sponsoring an essay contest for current JUNIORS. The BBB will award five- $1000 scholarships to students who plan to attend college. This contest is based solely on the essay and not on academic standing. The theme for the essay should be, "Describe an ethical situation you have faced in one of the following areas of your life: family, work, school, or community." Deadline is May 21, 2004. Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation
April 26, 2004 Seniors The CSF makes awards to financially eligible and academically worthy students.  Most scholarships are considered "last dollars" funds to cover the unmet need after all other federal, state and campus-based aid has been awarded.  If you may qualify for financial aid, complete this application.  ALL SENIORS SHOULD CONSIDER COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION! Several students from previous years are still receiving financial assistance from the foundation.  An official transcript must be submitted with the application.

May 1, 2004 Senior Delhi Athletic Association is sponsoring its annual Memorial Scholarship program to one graduating Elder senior who has met the following requirements: Maintained a 3.0 GPA and has participated in a DAA sponsored sport for a minimum of 3 years and be able to document participation if requested. The Elks National Scholarship Foundation
varies Seniors The Elks National Foundation will award $3.4 million in scholarship this year.  Many of the scholarships do not require the applicant to be related to a member of the BPO Elks. 

Financial Service Center of America
May 10, 2004 Seniors The FiSCA National Scholarship Program is available to benefit deserving college-bound high school seniors from families in areas served by its members.  The FiSCA National Scholarship Program awards cash grants of at least $2,000 to two students selected from each of five geographic regions across the nation. Criteria is based on academic achievement, financial need, leadership skills in school and the community, and an essay written expressly for the competition.  Funding for the national scholarship program is provided by voluntary contributions from FiSCA members, plus a select group of participating vendors such as Western Union Financial Services and Travelers Express. 


Grant C. Alexander Scholarship
April 23, 2004 Seniors The Grant C. Alexander Scholarship Foundation has created two $1,000.00 scholarships in order to increase awareness and of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  The scholarship is open to all students.  The awards will be made as a “last dollars” to cover any unmet tuition needs after all sources of scholarship and aid have been granted. 

The Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association’s (RRVA) Scholarship
Grant Program
May 15, 2004 Seniors The RRVA Scholarship Grant Program was initiated in 1970 with the objective of "taking care of our own." Initially the scholarships were made available strictly to dependent sons and daughters of KIA/MIA/POW US aircrews lost while serving in Southeast Asia. Over the years, the eligibility criteria has been changed to include: The immediate dependents (spouse and children (natural/adopted)), of any member of the US Armed Forces who is listed in KIA or MIA status from any combat situation involving our military since August, 1964, including those lost in the World Trade Center and Pentagon events of 9/11/01; The immediate dependents (above) of military aircrew members killed as the result of performing aircrew duties during a non-combat mission; The immediate dependents (above) of current and/or deceased RRVA-members, who were in good standing at the time of their death.

2004 Target Scholarships
November 1, 2004 Current juniors - students 24 and under Target awards over six hundred $1000 scholarships each year - including one $25,000 scholarship - that recognizes volunteer work as well as academic achievement to high school seniors and college students age 24 and younger. United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
vary by scholarship Seniors UNCF is a fund-raising consortium of 39 private, fully accredited, four-year, historically black colleges and universities. As an educational assistance organization, The College Fund provides operating assistance to its 39 member Colleges and universities, administers over 400 scholarship programs for African American students, provides technical assistance for HBCUs, and conducts research and data collection on African American education.  In its 55-year history, UNCF has raised over $1.4 billion to promote higher education achievement in the African American community and has helped to graduate over 300,000 African Americans from undergraduate and graduate programs.

Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati Alumni Association : Dane Wagge Scholarship
May 10, 2004 Seniors The University of Louisville Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati Alumni Club is accepting applications for its annual Dane Wagge Scholarship. This award is designed to provide financial assistance to outstanding students. Dane Wagge is a 1996 graduate of Dixie Heights High School who unexpectedly died during his freshman year at U of L. Criteria include: Apply to University of Louisville, Reside in NKY and Cincinnati Counties, Complete application, High School Transcript, Letter of Recommendation , GPA of 3.0 or better, and 20 on ACT. See Mr. Moeller for application. 

US Bank Scholarships
Check web site Seniors US Bank will award up to thirty $1,000.00 scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend accredited two- or four-year colleges full-time next school fall.  Scholarship award recipients are selected through a random drawing process.  Students can apply online by visiting the US Bank web site at: usbank.com/studentbanking.  The US Bank web site also contains information on paying for college.  The web site also contains a link to the Peterson's Scholarship Search Engine.  Keep in mind that US Bank does make loans for college.  Federal student loans can be made through any bank or other lending institution that wishes to participate.  The federal Department of Education program does set the rate and fees that a lender may charge.
