Throughout a student's high school
career, they will have to take a variety of tests and
assessments. These tests are high school required, state
required, and/or required for college application and admission.
For information about these tests, test dates, test preps, and
answers regarding these various tests, click on a link to the

TESTS
The State of Ohio law requires that the CLASS OF 2007 and beyond
pass the Ohio Graduation Test and NOT the Ohio Proficiency Test.
Students will begin taking the tests in the Spring of their
Sophomore year and may continue to take any section that they do
not pass until May of their Senior year. If you have questions
regarding the OGT, see your counselor or click on the OGT link to
the left.
SAT - Sign up for the REASONING
TEST
The SAT now contains a WRITING section. In the past there have
only been two scored sections - Math and English: Now there will
be the Math, Critical Reading and Writing. Scores in the past have
been 200-800 for each section with a total of 1600 composite.
Scores will still be 200-800 BUT since there are 3 sections there
will be a composite total of 2400. All students who take the SAT
are required to take the Writing section, but how the Writing
score is used depends on the college. Please talk to colleges of
interest about how they handle these scores. For more information
on the changes visit the SAT website.
ACT
The ACT is also has a Writing section. This section, unlike the
SAT, will be optional. Even though this section is optional,
some schools will be requiring it, so our best advice to you
is to take the writing section. It make take a little extra time
initially BUT it will save you a whole lot of time in the long
run.
